What is your fave dish made out of ham leftovers?!


Question: Mini bagels with ham slices, cheese, sauteed onions, peppers, wrapped up in foil and warmed until the cheese is melted.

I like to make fried potatoes and then add leftover ham and grate some cheese down over the top to melt.

Scalloped potatoes and ham, of course! lol

without a doubt carbonara,fry it up with mushrooms garlic and what ever else fire some cream at it and eat with pasta or crusty bread

It doesnt just have to be Virginia Ham, but this is delicious beyond words

Creamed Virginia Country Ham presented by La Vista Plantation Bed & Breakfast
INGREDIENTS:
3 TBSP butter
3 TBSP minced onion
3 TBSP green pepper
3 TBSP flour
1 1/2 -2 cups milk
1 cup chopped Virginia country ham
1 TBSP chopped parsley or chives
1/8 tsp paprika
2 Tbsp dry sherry

In a skillet melt the butter over medium heat,and sauté the onion and green pepper until light brown. Sprinkle in the flour and stir a few minutes. Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly. Add the ham and simmer, stirring until thickened. Remove the pan from the heat and season with the remaining ingredients. Serve over hot buttered toast, English or corn muffins or corn bread.

Serves 4-6.

OMG!! Pea soup!!!! Only if it was a bone in ham though.

Well for breakfast, I would make a ham omelet and throw in a few diced up veggies. But since it's about dinner time in the US, I'd make scalloped potatoes and ham. Maybe some eggs on the side. Or a light salad. If you have some bread or rolls, heat them up and spread mayo or whatever spread you like, lettuce, tomatoes, and your ham. It's sure to be a delight. Here's some more idea.

macaroni and cheese with ham
1/2 (8 ounce) package elbow macaroni
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 cup diced ham
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup bread crumbs

Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Place macaroni in the saucepan and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
Spread the Cheddar cheese over the bottom of the baking dish. Top with a thin layer of macaroni and a layer of diced hamTop macaroni with Provolone cheese, another layer of macaroni, a layer of mozzarella, a layer of ham, and a third layer of macaroni. Top with a layer of Colby-Monterey Jack cheese. Pour the egg over all, followed by the milk and bread crumbs/
Bake in the preheated oven 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Ham sandwiches!

I like to cut up the ham into chunky biots and serve in a salad. I either grill it lightly to make a warm salad or leave it plain. Drizzle the salad with a bit of balsamic vinegar and you have my idea of heaven.
