Bring a sweet potatoes, cook in the microwave for 6-8 minutes (depending on size) and bring some butter or a dash of sugar for taste. Then bring to slice of bread or bagels with cream cheese for the toaster. For the kettle bring a bag of green tea with antioxidants. Bon appetite!

Bring whole wheat bread to work. You can toast it and have a little peanut butter and bananas as a wholesome breakfast or snack.

You can make oatmeal.

You can have soup (make homemade vegetable or chicken soup and heat it in the microwave)

Put the tuna on a piece of whole wheat bread and put a thin slice of cheese on it and toast it in the toaster for a tuna melt.

Is there a refrigerator? Keep some healthy frozen meals at work to microwave. You can even make your own casseroles at home and bring squares of it to work in a sealable, microwavable container (like lasagna, tuna casserole, etc). If there's no fridge, you can bring a small cooler/lunch bag to keep it cold.

This is what I do at work....Get the garlic onion bagles, bean sprouts and cream cheese..pop the bagle in the micro for 30 seconds till hot and cream cheese and bean sprout it....So yummy

Lean cuisines, smart ones, and other healthy frozen food options that are convenient to heat up. Pre made protein shakes are a quick and healthy way to get through the day feeling full. A healthy homemade food in a plastic container is another option. Stay positive, eat right and you will achieve your resolution. Good Luck!!!!!

You've got it made if you have a microwave at work! Even if there isn't a refrigerator, the insulated bags have really been improved over the years. So you can take frozen entrees or shelf-stable meals or leftovers and heat them. Or you can take sandwich fixings and make a nice hot sandwich with the toaster and microwave. The kettle of course lets you heat water for lots of dried soups.

It took me a long time to get my employer to get a microwave for our small facility that was separate from where they were located...they didn't think the 3 of us needed a microwave! Now we also have a refrigerator with freezer and coffee maker. So we don't have to take longer breaks to go out and buy things and can answer the phone while having a break instead of gone!

Baked Potato (in the microwave)
1 large russet potato
1-2 tablespoon butter
3-4 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese, divided
salt and black pepper
--Wash the skin of the potato, then dry with a paper towel. Prick several times using a fork. Place the potato on a microwave-safe plate. Cook on full power for 5 minutes. Turn over and continue to cook for about 4-5 minutes more *the cooking time will vary, depending on potato's size* When the potato is soft remove from the microwave and cut in half. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and mash up the inside a little with a fork. Top the open sides with butter and and 2-3 tablespoons cheddar cheese. Return to microwave and cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute more to melt the cheese. Top with about 1 tablespoon more cheddar cheese and sour cream to taste. Delicious!

Microwave Poached Eggs on Toast
1 slice bread, toasted
1 large egg
butter and salt and pepper, to taste
--Place the toast on a plate, butter it, flatten the middle down with the back of a fork. Crack and carefully pour the egg into the flattened middle of the toast, not allowing it to spill over into the plate. Prick the yolk quickly and carefully with the tines of the fork, season with salt and pepper, and bake in the microwave on a turntable for about 1 minute on 60-70% power until the white is cooked through or desired doneness is achieved.

Microwave Polenta
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1 3/4 cups wate
1/4 teaspoon salt (less salt required if using soup base)
1 tablespoon rosemary or thyme (optional)
--*You may have to adjust ratio, depending on altitude and or type of flour* Mix flour with water and salt , and microwave at full power for 10-15 minutes (depending on power and quantity), stopping to stir every five to six minutes. *You can substitute some broth or milk for the water, not too much milk or it may boil over* Makes 1-2 servings.

Oatmeal
1 cup water
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 dash salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
cinnamon, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
--Combine ingredients in microwave safe dish. Nuke 2 minutes and 20 sec. Stir. If still watery, nuke 10-15 seconds more. *use whatever fresh fruit you have on hand -- chopped apples, cut up bananas, fresh peaches, etc. *you can also use dried fruit such as raisins, cherries, blueberries, etc. When using dried fruit, nuke the fruit in enough water to cover for approximately 2 mins, depending on the size of the fruit and it's estimated moisture content. *after nuking dried fruit, do not drain if there is any water left. Add the other ingredients to the pot and go from there.
