Biscuits with chocolate gravy?!

Question: Has anyone had this before? Did you like it or not? I just recently heard about it and it sounds interesting. From what I understand, it is supposed to be quite popular in the South, yet none of my Southern relatives know what it is. Do you have a recipe you would recommend to try?

Biscuits with chocolate gravy is delicious! Here's how to make the gravy:

1 cup granulated sugar or Splenda sugar substitute
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Mix all the dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan with a whisk. Using a whisk blends everything better than a spoon. Stir in the milk. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove the pot when the mixture is thick like pudding.
Add the butter. Stir in until completely melted. Serve over biscuits with a teaspoon of butter dolloped on top.

Another tasty treat is to put butter and maple syrup on cornbread!

Make some biscuits.
Make some white sauce then add cocoa and sugar.
Split the biscuits and top with chocolate gravy.
Very Southern and delicious.

We love it. My family has eaten it for years. I'm not sure of the recipe, but it has cocoa powder and flower in it.... It's great without the biscuits too....add a little butter....yum!

good idea....
