How do you make the crunchiest, lightest pork crackling?!

Answers: Husband has bought a slab of pork rind for me to crackle, I've never been particularly good at it. Something about rubbing in oil and salt ?? Other people say steam it first?

Deep fat fry?????? When I prepare a ham, I score it, season it and then bake it a 400 F and check every 10 minutes or so, maybe even turn it down after 10 minutes or when its brown and crispy and then bake it further at a lower heat, maybe 350. Steaming would make it impossible to get crispy.
