Is it safe for a cat to eat shellfish or other kinds of seafood?!

Question: we eat a lot of seafood, and we often give the cat a piece (she loves it and the smell drives her nuts!! I just want to know if it may not be safe. Im having mussels and lobster tonight, will it hurt to give her a piece? she is 4 months old.

I see nothing wrong with it on occasion. I'd avoid dipping the morsel in butter first and try not to give her too much as it can be too rich. My rule of thumb with table feeding is that I never give my cats much more food than about a tablespoon full at a meal and I always wait until after I'm done eating so they don't get the idea that it's cute to beg.

Sure, it's safe . . . be careful with butter or sauces (none), and make sure you're not teaching her to beg.

Kitty . . . : LOVES : . . . seafood! :o)

Personally, I would not give Pusskins any of the lobster for fear of allergic reaction.
