When baking a cake, sometimes i've seen that you can substitute butter with oil , but how do you work out!

Question: how much oil is equal to 1oz butter, or 2oz or3oz or 4oz ? as I cannot use butter or marge, thanks!

Substitute equal amounts of butter with oil. A stick of butter is 1/2 cup = 4 oz. = 16 tablespoons. So you should be able to do the math from here. I'd suggest you use your liquid measuring cup if you need 1/4 (2 oz.) or 1/2 cup (4 oz.)

butter is 80% fat,the rest water milk solids and a bit of salt
oil is 100% fat
