What is a tasty and healthy snack for a pregnet woaman?!
Answers: My girlfriend is pregnet and wants to eat all the time. What is something good and healthy she could eat?
During pregnancy, a woman needs to get 2-4 servings of fruit, 3-5 servings of veggies, 6-11 servings of grains (preferably whole grain), 2-3 servings of protein, and 4-6 servings of dairy (preferably low fat or skim) every day. To help contribute to this, snacks should have at least servings from 1-2 food groups. Some good choices:
+1 cup cereal with 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup yogurt
+1 small baked potato
+1/2 cup berries in 1 cup yogurt
+1 tbsp peanut butter on 1 slice bread
+1 apple cooked in the microwave with cinnamon and sugar
+1 small pancake with 1/2 banana and 1/2 tbsp peanut butter
+1/2 cup cooked oatmeal with a little brown sugar
+1 orange
Good Luck!
Celery with cream cheese, apples with some caramel or some chocolate, carrots , grapes.
chocolate
air popped popcorn was a fav of mine. So where carrots, celery and cherry tomatoes wiht a bit of Dill dip on them. I also ate yogurt and Cherrios by the bowl in my last trimester.
Basicly she will eat what she wants to eat and learn not to eat it if it upsets her tummy and brings it back up. Keep 7 up and saltine crackers on hand if she does it helps settle the tummy down. And Congratulations to you both
Sherbert, frozen yogurt, Saltines with peanut butter, Celery with pimento and cheese, Ham and cheese rolls, baby carrots with ranch dip, sugar free jello, sliced strawberries with splenda sprinkled over, grilled cheese on wheat...
Apples and Peanut Butter. . .
Yogurt!
ice cream
celery and peanut butter. I used to crave strawberry milkshakes. Get her whatever she wants, it'll make your life easier. She can focus on losing weight after the baby.
Some really satisfying, yet healthy snacks for pregos:
sliced apples w/ caramel
trail mix (nuts, raisins, dried fruit, a l'il bit of chocolate)
deli pickles (big & salty, but not too bad for you..)
cheese & crackers- she needs her protien!
granola
If she likes spicy stuff, I highly recommend wasabi peas-- dried, crunchy peas w/ a spicy, salty coating-
To be honest, during my first pregnancy, I craved huge salads with french fries & ranch dressing... They were tasty, but super high fat. She should try to focus on snacks that have nutritional value, but also satisfy her cravings. Grains, nuts, fruit, cheese (pastuerized only!!), fresh veggies, and potatoes should do the job. Just watch the fat and sugar intake. Also-- No tuna!
fruit and vegies
