Question: Never had one, I am craving an omelet, I want to try and make one.

The omelet is very versatile. It can be served for any meal.

The filling can be pretty much anything you like, savory or sweet, although savory is more traditional.

You can either turn your omelet with a small filling for a light meal or serve as an open omelet in the style of the "spanish omelet" adding vegetables, meats and potatoes for a filling alternative for a full meal.

Breakfast;
Fill it with cheese and ham and bacon and whatever kind of spices you like!

Typically I'll have a ham cheese and mushroom omelet.

Typically its a Breakfast meal...
mix anything you want in it..cheese is the easiest~
crack 3 eggs in bowl mix together with a pinch of milk..
warm a pan on low...once pan is warmed pour mixture onto it
leave stand for 3 minutes..or till mixture starts to harden..
trow ur cheeses on now and flip other side of egg mixture
over it..let cheese melt..should resemble an egg taco or pita!!
serve up and enjoy!

use a mixer to mix the eggs, until they are light, and fluffy, and they, cook one side, when it is cooked, flip it, and while the other side is cooking, place cheese, bacon, vegetables, and anything you'd like on it, on one side of the omelet, and then, fold it, wait for the other side to cook, and, when it is cooked, take out your omelet, and, wala! ur omelet is cooked!!!!!!!!

Yes omelet can be served for any meal.

Omelet is a light meal and your choice of spanish omelet , ham omelet or cheese omelet etc...Hmm yummy....

For a great omelette, take two or three eggs and split the yoke from the white. Blend the white to the snow point or somewhere in between to snow point (adding salt here helps reach the snow point faster), then add the yokes and a little of water or milk and blend it togheter (you can use more whites than yokes). Throw in the mix the ingredients of your choice: mushrooms, cheese, ham... any mix of them... or several cheeses. Don't overload it, it should remail liquid and easy to mix. Add condiments.

Heat a pot with some oil (olive oil is better for my taste, and it takes more heat before burning out). Pour the mix into the pot and let it cook until being able to separate it from the pot surface... at this point, flip one side and bend it over the other (it should become a half circle) and tilt the pot, for the oil to run over the edges of the omelette, leaving the tilted side over the heat as to seal the edges togheter. Once sealed, serve it. Notice that some of the eggs should remain liquid in the inside.


As for the "Spanish omelette", it's what they call a "tortilla", which has nothing to do with the Mexican one. The most usual one is the potatoes one:

Cut the potatoes in slices and fry them lightly. Chop an onion and fray it as well. In a bowl, put the potatoes and the onion, mix enough eggs as to cover them (or at least, leave everithing wet). Add condiments. Heat a pot with olive oil, then put the fire at the minimum and throw the mix in. Cover the pot and let it cook, paying attention to avoid burning it. Once cooked in one side, use the pot cover or a dish big enough to flip it. Just press the dish over the pot and turn it around, fast! then let the raw side slide back to the pot and cook it.

Yes I have made one but it doesn't come out as it would at a restaurant. I need one of those omelet pans. I love to order one when I am eating breakfast at IHOP or the Waffle House.

any meal, and the garbage omelet is the best- put a little bit of everything!!
