Bert

pasta is the Italian name for all noodles. Macaroni (elbow noodles) is one type/shape of pasta.

i agree with bert.

pasta is pasta
and macaroni is the shape..
like elbow macaroni and stuff like that.

Macaroni is pasta you nit.

Macaroni is a type of pasta shape. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different shapes.

Basically. Macaroni is the name of the shape of the pasta. So all macaroni is pasta, but not all pasta is macaroni. Like ziti. It's pasta, it just has a name for its shape.

no they taste different.

Yes and no...depending! Sorry

Macaroni can be either a shape of pasta.....like elbow macaroni.....or a type of dry pasta that is made without egg.

Pasta on the other hand, can be dry or fresh and contain eggs or not.

But customarily, especially in the States, macaroni is a shape of pasta....

Yes macaroni is a type of pasta

Yes its the same thing. Just like fettucini, spaghetti, etc., are all pasta. They are named differently because of the shapes.

"Macaroni" refers to short, tube-shaped pasta, like elbow macaroni, penne or ziti.
