What do you think the secret ingredient is in chili that makes it so unbelievably yummy?!
Answers: I love chili and I throw all sorts of stuff in the pot every time I cook it. I've never mad bad chili. Today I used beer in it. Do you think this batch will turn out bad? I love to cook with wine and I've used beer to marnate meats but I've never used it in chili. What do you think?
I think it's everything being simmered together and all the flavors bleeding into the food.
I think beer is a great idea. You could also try a little red wine or chocolate to give it a unique flavor.
delic !!!!
I've never put wine or beer in chili. The secret ingredient in my chili is a big dash of cinnamon.
Beer great addition to chili.
I think your chili will turn out just fine. Do you want to know what I put in my chili that has people coming back for more? I put one teaspoon of cinnamon in my chili and while that may sound really gross,it actually makes the chili taste really good and people cannot figure out what my,"secret,"ingredient is. Shhhh, don't tell anyone okay? ;-)
no i dont think that would taste good but... to each his own.
Beer, an ounce or two of kethup (if your chili is tomato based), a little sugar, or a bit of cinnamon.
it'll taste more on the bitter side but if the rest of your ingredients cancel it out it'll be scrumptious. try some nutmeg in another batch!
Think beer will add to the flavour.Good idea.
I've never added beer...what kind do you use? My favorite chili recipe uses 1/2 pound of bacon which adds amazing flavor!
I always use green peppers in my chili. I have used cinnamon in the past and some people have liked the flavor, some have not but no complaints with the green pepper. I have never tried the beer but have heard it is good. A little bit or red wine makes a good chili as well.
My secret ingredient is a bottle of spicy thick bloody mary mix. It adds a good kick instead of just plain tomato.
