blackeye peas are white w/black dot. black beans are all black

No they are not the same thing.

no a black bean is black and a black eye bean has an eye(a little brown spot)

yes

most definately not. I think that black eye peas are better tasting though.

no they differ

I always thought that black eyed peas tasted like a northern bean with a burnt spot. I never cared for them and they taste similar to field peas(don't care for them either).

Black beans (frijoles negro) and rice is a popular hispanic dish. Black beans taste similar to red beans; only richer, in my opinion. You can pick all of these up by the can in walmart or any grocery store.

nope they're not

no they are not the same

not the same! one is a pea, other is a bean! One is black and the other just has a black eye. In the south we eat b.e.peas all year long and especially on New Years day with corn bread fried okra and cabbage to ensure good luck and plenty of wealth. I almost never eat black beans to eat black beans, but do add them to recipes like stews and mixed bean soups.
