Marinades for grilled shrimp on the BBQ?!

Question: Last summer I was obsessed with grilling shrimp on skewers and I used a butter, lemon, garlic, basil marinade that was to die for! I want to start grilling again soon but I don't want to bore my usual suspects with the same shrimp every weekend. Any ideas?

first i would decide a theme....coconut and mangoe are two flavors shown to work well with shrimp. It would be interesting to try a pineapple/shrimp skewer with a mango/mint (or cilantro) glaze drizzled over. never tried it, but you can bet i will in the next week....thanks for the idea

Mesquite seasoning and butter works nice. Even smoky barbecue sauce works nice.

If you use any kind of acid it in your marinade it must be very briefly marinated. I personally prefer just olive oil and some seasonings like salt, pepper, thyme or basil.

use different marinades,,also you can you crayfish or lobsters
crab meat,,,,marinades it depends on your taste buds,,

this is my family favorite - it is absolutely divine and you will think you have died and gone to heaven:

1 bunch of asian coriander (cilantro) finely chopped
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup sweet chilli sauce
1 big teaspoon of crushed / minced garlic

mix all together and stir amongst the green shrimp. cover and refridgerate for a couple of hours. if you can't wait, doesn't matter - still good. grill away - they will LOVE it
