What can I do with leftover ham, besides ham sandwiches?!
Answers: Can I freeze it if it's already cooked? I made a ham two days ago and have waaaay too much to eat quickly, lol.
I freeze sliced ham all the time, so long as its cooked it should be fine
omelette's with green onions, cheese and tomatoes,
add to fettuccine Alfredo
add to some potatoes
add to some mac & cheese
add to some rice and sprinkle with cheese

make soup... red beans and rice calls for a good amount of ham too... make a big batch and freeze some of it. Send me what you don't eat :) :)
you and me both. This is what I did ...
1. sliced and froze a lot
2. made a couple casseroles (allrecipes.com) and also a mac & cheese w/ ham (allrecipes.com)
Then I bought crackers and good cheese for snacks and also some good bread that I've made grilled cheese with ham dipped in tomato soup for a change.
I'm actually getting ready to ask how I can get the maple out of the ham. I've washed some slices which works well but I'm wondering what will counteract as far as a seasoning! Good luck!
sure you can freeze it, or you can chop it, add the bone and make spilt pea soup.. or ham and cheese casserole.
1 lb cooked rigatoni
1 lb chopped ham
6 eggs, scrambled
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 tsp grated nutmeg
1/2 lb. grated swiss or gruyere cheese
1/4 c. parmesan cheese
add the pasta and ham to a buttered casserole dish, toss lightly to incorporate, scramble the eggs, cream, and swiss cheese together, add nutmeg and pour over pasta. top with paremesan cheese.
bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes until lightly golden on top and eggs are cooked through.
since I cant type them all up I just found the rrecipe site I got mine from so here you go. But you can freeze the bulk of it in smaller portions for easier use. Have fun
Yes - Ham freezes very well. I just froze a whole bunch from our Christmas ham also!!
you can make split pea and ham soup,black eye peas and ham, bean and ham soup, ham quiche, ham and cheese melt on a bagel, chop it up and put in a salad, make scallop or augratin potatoes and add ham, add ham to an omelette, or eggs, you can freeze it, as ham is already cured and cooked when you buy it, you just have to heat it up.... make homefries and add them in....
You can put it in Mac & Cheese! YUM!

My boyfriend made some ham and bean soup... Then he also made some ham stir fry. He just used some frozen veggies and teriyaki sauce, cooked it all in a wok, and put it over rice. Mmm, I'm eating left over stir fry right now.

we had the same problem in my house, so my dad made us all omlettes in the morning using the ham, and he made a huge batch of ham and bean soup last night, and its amazing!

Ham and bean soup is one way to go. Or, something my father did was chop it up and add it with some brown sugar to chili.
My kids absolutely devoured a pan of scalloped potatoes I made using the leftovers from our Christmas ham. Very easy to make.
I can't remember the exact ingredient quantities off the top of my head, but I know it was very simple. Ingredients for the sauce included just milk, butter, a bit of flour, and some black pepper. Slice a few potatoes thin and layer in a greased baking pan. Pour in some of the sauce and scatter about small chunks of the ham. Add another layer of potatoes, then more sauce. I topped with some grated parmesan cheese. Bake it covered with foil for one hour, then uncover for another 30 minutes. I think the oven was at 350. Tastes great!
Throw it in the crock pot with some split peas, water, carrots and onion for some yummy pea soup.
ham hash. it's excellent. my mom used to make it when i was a kid, and now i make it with leftover Christmas ham.
peel and boil an idaho potato for each person plus one additional. cut into 1 or 2 inch cubes and boil until fork-tender.
cut up the ham (just use how much you think you will eat; we usually tend to eat the rest of the ham, which is about a pound- give or take) into bite-sized chunks
in a big skillet, put about 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, and saute half of an onion- cut into "strips"- and a taplespoon of minced garlic until onion is tender, but not brown.
add tender potato pieces and ham chunks. salt and pepper to taste. cover with a lid and cook until ham is hot, stirring (it's not liquid, but you should get the idea!) occasionally. potatoes should get softer, and look kind of "mushy."
this is my favorite left-over meal. it is also a good filler-upper (is that a word?) because it has the potatoes AND ham, which gives you the perfect serving of your carbs, protien, and starches, and the olive oil, which is good for your blood pressure (i think...!)

Yes it can definitely be frozen - I always get a big one just so I can:
Cut some into cubes and freeze for adding to omelette's or mac and cheese
Put some slices in the freezer to fry up with poached eggs or however you like your eggs
Always good with or in scalloped potatoes or brown beans
Split Pea and Ham soup:
6 to 8 cups chicken broth
2# Package ready cooked cubed ham
Bag of split peas
1/2 bag frozen carrots
1 can of cubed potatoes
chopped celery and onion (about 1/2 cup each)
slt, pepper and garlic salt to taste
