I LOVE slow cookers! Because I use one, I can make fabulous meals that I would never have time to make otherwise! It cooks meat very well, it always comes out tender and delicious!
Also they are very energy efficient.

cooks great no no

Slow cookers are very efficient from an energy standpoint. They are also an excellent way to use less expensive cuts of meat and have them turn out very tender and tasty. They also provide a way for busy women or men to prepare meals at home rather than rely on take out or fast food. You can make a variety of meals starting with breakfast thru dinner in one. (Not at the same time of course) Put oatmeal in at night and in the morning you have breakfast. Use chicken broth and cut up vegtables an chicken and you will have soup, swiss steaks, beef broth, carrots, tomatoes and onions will make a great dinner with a side salad. There are a number of cookbooks on the market that are devoted to the slow cooker.

The newer models that are oval in shape make it much easier to do a pot roast or larger cut of meat. Look for one that has a removable insert to make clean up easier. Also, the slow cooker plastic bags are great when doing somethhing like chili in the cooker.

Yes, Yes, No respectively.

Slow Cookers are just like a regular oven and stove, it runs on electricity. It cooks well because I use mine all the time, but my mother gets mad at me because it makes our bill very high. So no, it will run your bill up and then you have a great way to cook your roasts and slow cooking spaghetti!
