Need a receipe for White Lasagna?!

Question: I have looked all over for a receipe but can't find just what I want. I need a lasagna receipe that includes a white sauce, ground beef and/or italian sausage, and ricottia cheese. I do not want one that red sauce, carrots, celery, spinach, broccoli etc. I also want to avoid cottage cheese and breadcrumbs.

White Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients:

4 boneless chicken breasts
1 can chicken broth
1 pound lasagna noodles
1/2 pound shredded ham
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
Parmesan cheese
***Sauce***
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup flour
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
Reserved broth
1 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup parsley
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon tarragon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Cook chicken breasts in broth. Cool and cut into bite-sized pieces, reserving broth. Cook noodles, adding 1-2 tablespoons oil to prevent sticking.

Sauce: Melt butter and slowly add flour, cooking until smooth. Remove from heat and slowly add milk. Add cream and reserved broth. Cook to boiling, stirring constantly. Add cheese, parsley and seasonings.

Assembly: Butter 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread a little sauce on the bottom. Make 3 layers each of noodles, chicken and ham and sauce.

Sprinkle with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake an additional 5-10 minutes, until lightly browned.

That sounds pretty bland. Why not just make fettucine sauce and layer beef, noodles, sauce and top with mozzarella. Fry the beef with onions and garlic for flavour.

my mother-in-law makes a killer chicken lasagna. instead of beef she cooks up some chicken and cuts/shreds it into small pieces. she hard boiled some eggs, slices them and layers the lasagna with the chicken and sliced eggs and ricotta cheese. instead of sauce she uses chicken broth.

good chit!

WHITE LASAGNA

8 ounces lasagna noodles
2 pounds ground meat
1 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons basil
1 teaspoon oregano
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup half and half
3 ounces cream cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded Gouda cheese
12 ounces creamy style cottage cheese
1 egg, beaten
12 ounces mozzarella cheese,I use more

Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a skillet cook the meat, celery, onion and garlic until meat is browned; drain.

Stir in basil, oregano, salt, and Italian seasoning. Add half and half and cream cheese. Cook until cheese melts.

Add cheddar and gouda cheese. Heat until all is melted.

Stir in cottage cheese and egg.

Layer half the noodles in a 13x9-inch pan. Top with 1/2 the meat mixture, 1/2 of the mozzarella, repeat layer.

Bake uncovered at 375 for 30 to 35 minutes.
You can use yogurt in place of cottage cheese or just leave it out.

Use a regular lasagnsa recipe found on any box of lasagna noodles, and substitute alfredo sauce for the tomato sauce.

You can use just about any lasagna recipe just replace the red sauce with a bechamel sauce. A true "white" lasagna would use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef/sausage.

Brown the chicken/turkey in olive oil with a little salt and pepper just until most of the pink is gone - do not overcook since you will be cooking again in the oven. Cool.

Prepare lasagna noodles according to box instructions.
Prepare Bechamel sauce according to recipe - let cool then add ricotta cheese - a nice addition would be to add Parmesan cheese and even some asiago cheese to the sauce.
Optionally add some sliced zucchini that has been partially cooked.

Grease a ovenproof dish with a little oil - put several ladles of the bechamel on the bottom - place a layer of cooked noodles on top - layer some chicken/turkey over noodles - ladle more bechamel and zucchini on top continue for several layers until the thickness you desire. Finish with bechemal sauce on top then cover with Parmesan cheese.

Cover and bake for approx 30 minutes at 350 then uncover and continue baking until cheese is browned.
