I read one in a book called Barbecue Bible that has made a lot of people really satisfied. It is so simple, too - marinate something (usually beef for me) in olive oil, black pepper, and lime juice. It did not sound that appetizing but it is really, really tasty. Yum.
Can I come over? I'll bring beer.
I think that depends on what kind of meat you are cooking. Recipes.com have a lot of marinades. I personally like the teriyaki...It works for most meats.
I love to grill no matter what time of year, so Go Ahead Make him grill! I use dry rubs more than marinades. I use a product called Ultimate steak & Roast Rub by Excalibur for steaks, Better Burger Seasoning for my burgers. I buy them from a company called Mid-Western Research & Supply.
Shrimp kabbobs.
Onion, shrimp, pineapple, green/red bell pepper, ...I like it coated lightly with sweet barbecue sauce, but garlic salt is good too, or even terriyaki. When they are done, you put a maraccino cherry on the end of the skewer before serving. Goes nicely over a bed of yellow rice with chopped green onion in it..
I would put some chicken on the plate with it too.
damnit!..now i'm hungry
Marinated steak-here is the recipe
1 cup of robust italian dressing and two tablespoons of a good steak sauce
Whisk together and marinate the steak overnight then grill.
I love to marinade chicken and then cook on low heat slowly so there's no burning and it stays moist. Shish-ke-bob are also great and cook faster. Do veggies along too. Our favorite at this time of year is grilled red fish and tuna freshly caught in the Gulf. Easy to do and quick cooking, we clean but leave the skin on and cook directly over the heat on the grill seasoned with lots of cajun seasonings and butter.
