How to make white fairy floss? (cotton candy)?!

Question: I know this is a stupid question but, you know how people colour the sugar to get different coloured fairy floss, well how about white fairy floss?
Because when i went to Korea, they had white fairy floss instead.
But when i watch videos on youtube, when wite sugar is inserted, pink fairy floss comes out! :o
When you colour the sugar, does it actually appear white or coloured?

I want to buy the sunbeam flossy fairy floss maker, but it says to use pure granulated white sugar.
But other people have told me this and i read it somewhere, that you mix a drop of food colouring with the sugar and leave it to dry overnight.
Is this true?

Will this break the machine?
And do you use normal food colouring?

Sorry for all the dumb questions, but im a real newbie to this sorta stuff. hehe :)

Thanks heaps!
Appreciate all appropriate answers :)

I dont know anything about fairy floss, but if it is the same as cotton candy, then listen up.

whatever color the sugar is, the cotton candy is the same color. Ive made cotton candy working at a Six Flags theme park, and there are a few things that I have realized from my observations. First of all, ive seen cotton candy made in two different colors. Pink and blue. A different machine was dedicated to that color of cotton candy, and they were never mixed up. this is because, if the same machine was used for both blue and pink, then one would need to clean the entire machine to switch colors or just use a different machine. I do not know exactly what product you plan on using, but my experience tells me that there is no reason for cotton candy colored with food coloring (the right way, but I do not know how to color the sugar the right way, it always came precolored) using a color of sugar other than white will not ruin the machine, but it might taint cotton candy made of other colors if you switch colors)

when the sugar is colored, it should appear to be a shade of the food coloring. the very sugar crystals have been colored, in this case. You may or may not be able to find precolored sugar online, but it is out there, I know it is, somewhere....
also I see no reason as to why normal food coloring should not be used. it is merely coating the sugar crystals. the food coloring should not adversely affect the performance of the machine if the sugar is dry after adding the food coloring. I hope this has helped!!

e-mail sunbeam and they will answer the questions for you.
you don't need anyone telling you the wrong thing.

heck i didn't even know they sold those machines, i need to go buy one ,yum-yum
