Trying to find a recipe for brownies called "Charlie Brown" brownies, around in the 60's?!
From the Peanuts Cookbook - 1969
Charlie Brown's Brownies
1 stick butter (1 cube)
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
4 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups sugar
1 cup Hour, sifted
1 cup chopped nuts
In a large bowl (over a pan of boiling water) melt butter and chocolate.
Remove from heat and add beaten eggs, vanilla, sugar, sifted flour and
nuts.
Stir well.
Pour into greased baking pan.
Bake at 325 for about 35 minutes.
Center should stay moist.
Cool before cutting.
If they last an hour, you're lucky.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 c FLOUR
1 c BROWN SUGAR
1 c SUGAR
1 t BAKING POWDER
1 t SALT
1 t VANILLA
1/2 c BUTTER
1/4 c SHORTENING
4 x EGGS
3 ea SQUARES BAKERS CHOCOLATE
-----ICING-----
3 tb BUTTER
3 tb MILK
1 ea SQUARE CHOCOLATE
2 1/2 c POWDERED SUGAR
Directions:
COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS IN A MIXING BOWL. BEAT 1 MINUTE AT MEDIUM SPEED. POUR INTO GREASED 9 X 13 PAN. BAKE AT 350 DEG F. FOR 25 MINUTES. COOL IN PAN THEN COVER WITH ICING. ** ICING ** MIX BUTTER (MELTED) WITH CHOCOLATE AND MILK. ADD POWDERED SUGAR SLOWLY UNTIL MIXTURE IS SMOOTH AND THICK. SPREAD ON BROWNIES CAREFULLY. note: PER SERVING, CALORIES 239; FAT 9.5 g; SODIUM 150 mg. Percent of calories from fat = 35.7%
This is the perfect way.
CHARLIE BROWN
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
3/4 c. chopped pecans
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 lg. Cool Whip (3 c.)
2 sm. chocolate fudge Jello Instant Pudding
3 c. milk
Cut butter into flour, stir in nuts. Take flour mixture and make crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Set pan out to cool.
Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and beat until fluffy. Fold in a cup of whipped topping. Spread over crust. Chill and add pudding and 3 cups milk. Add remaining chilled Cool Whip for a topping.
