Gotta have applesauce with pork chops! Pork and apples just go together. Especially good if you heat it a bit in the microwave, add a drop or two of vanilla extract, then dust it with cinnamon and sugar.

For a side-dish, potato pancakes are really good with pork chops. You can use either mashed potatoes (fresh are best, but instant can do in a pinch ... season them well, shape into pancakes, brown in hot oil ... do a few at a time) or shredded potatoes.

Or, try braised cabbage. It's so quick and easy. Cut a head of cabbage into narrow wedges, brush each cut side with oil, and cook in a large non-stick skillet. Turn each one over after a few minutes, salt ... done!

Apple chutney

15 tart apples - peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1 yellow onion, quartered
3 (1 inch) pieces fresh ginger root, peeled
1 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

In a saucepan, mix the apples, onion, ginger, vinegar, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, white pepper, cardamom, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cover. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until the apples are tender. Mix in some water if necessary to keep the ingredients moist. Remove the onion and ginger, and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Wild rice pilaf, spiced apples, asparagus spears or broccoli.

mashed sweet potato's and glazed carrots. a salad on the side, with brownies for dessert.

stove top stuffing, corn on the cob, tossed green salad and for dessert brownies.good luck.

you could try some kind of rice. and you can also use some of the typical side dishes. I really don't know what else would be good with pork chops.

Rice pilaf, GARLIC mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese with crumbled bacon, baked sweet potato with a light brown sugar glaze is a very nice complement to pork chops. It's also important to do the chops correctly and make sure they are full of flavor so that the side dish complements them.
