Bread crumbs using rice krispies?!

Question: Has anyone used rice krispy cereal in place of bread crumbs?? If so how did it turn out??

my daughter says she put the rice crispies into the blender and buzzed them, then used them for breading her chicken.

Sure. And like Sue, I put them in the food processor. Works good.
Most unsugared cereals will do, also the "grainer" type of instant potatoes--not the flakes.

No I haven't , but hey why not. Be careful because it seems they would burn a little easier.

They work fine, although I've also started using the same amount (with the rice krispies) of Durkees French Fried Onions (the kind in the can, that you always see on those horrid green bean casseroles) Try that and see how you like it.....Adds a nice onion flavor and good crunch....Enjoy!!!

Yes, and you can also pound them in a bag instead of a processor

yum- it'll make it extra crispy- if you dont have a food processor, put em in a plastic bag and roll with a rolling pin or bottle
