Can I use long grain rice in place of medium grain rice?!

Question: I am making a risotto dish and don't have medium grain rice... does long grain rice work in a dish like this?
Thanks!

It won't come out the same, as risotto rice is usually much stickyer than long grain, but that doesn't mean it won't be good. It really depends on how much of a purist you (or the guests you're cooking for) are about it.
If it works out, please post the recipe!
Thanx

any type of rice will work in any dish. some take longer to cook than others, so read the cooking directions carefully.

yes of course

You can make it and it will be nice, just slightly different. The dish will be a little lighter, fluffier and drier, more like a pilaf. Long grain rice is good in hot weather. It will still be good.

Yes that will be fine, it just want to be as creamy.
