Can goulosh be made from left over sprial ham & do you have a recipe for it?!


Question: I was thinking about ham stroganoff using a white sauce with cheese.

STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS
6 sm. green peppers, tops removed &
seeded
1 lb. ground cooked ham
3/4 cup cooked rice
2/3 c. water
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. ketchup
1 c. ketchup
1/2 c. water
4 carrots, peeled & cut in 3" pieces
Wash peppers; drain well.Simmer in salt water till almost tender. Combine in medium bowl: Ground ham, rice, onion, salt and 1/4 cup ketchup. Mix well. Stuff peppers 2/3 full. Arrange stuffed peppers in crock pot with carrot pieces to help support peppers. Pour in ketchup and water. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours (or high 3 hours). Serve on bed of rice - pour tomato sauce over top.

THeres pork goulosh and beef. Its mainly beef when someone hears gouloush.

Basic goulosh is macaroni or somekind of pasta with tomatoes or juice and some kind of meat. I think for ham I would use a white sauce instead of tomatoes. If you have a scalped ham recipe, use it for the sauce mixture. Milk, cheese if you want, and flour to thicken slightly.
