Plank it! So different and good, everyone loves it!

Grilled Cedar Planked Salmon

Cedar Planks Soaked in water for 1 hour at least ( a zip lock type bag works well if you make sure there is no air in bag.
2 pounds Salmon
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/3 cup whiskey or woody chardonnay
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 Tablespoons salt
pepper to taste )

Instructions

Combine all ingredients except salmon and blend to make marinade. Marinade fish for at least 1 hour to overnight

Soak the plank
Place on a hot grill over a evenly layer of ask cover charcoal. or a medium-high heat gas grill.
When smoke appears place items on plank and roast till done. fish take approx 30 minutes for a 2 inch thick cut and 15-20 for 1 inch cut

5 tablespoons melted unsalted butter mixed with
3 tablespoons lime juice
2 crushed add chopped cloves fresh garlic

Spoon about half of this mixture over three or four salmon sections and grill about 4 minutes per side for medium. I use the remaining for dipping. You can also add 1 tablespoon liquid smoke to the mix and use all of it to continue basting your salmon throughout the cooking process (the dip does not taste good with the smoke so only use it for cooking). Take put the garlic if you don't like it too and just butter and lime are wonderful.

I prefer to pan fry mine, that way you are not constantly bending down to see how they are doing in the oven.
I just add a little salt to the faces and fry until 2/3 cooked and then rest.
Serve with either lemon juice or malt vinegar

I know this recipe is for Tuna. I also use it for my salmon.

Season salmon with lemon pepper ,garlic , wrap in Reynolds
wrap & grill.Ummm-Ummm good!!!

MARINADE:

2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 c. onion, grated
1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
1 tsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. Tamari soy sauce
1/8 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
2 tbsp. olive oil for grill

1 lb. salmon fillet or 2 sm. salmon steaks

Combine marinade ingredients. Add salmon, turn to cover with marinade and stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Brush grill rack with oil. Drain fish; save marinade. Cook on uncovered grill, directly over medium coals for 7 minutes. Turn with a spatula, brush with more marinade, and continue grilling 6 to 8 more minutes.

The previous person who said to use planks was right. If you can't do that then try taking the salmon and lay it on aluminum foil, sprinkling it with salt, lemon pepper and laying slices of lemon across it. Also squeeze a little lemon or lime juice on Wrap up the foil and grill it that way. You can also broil it that way too.
