How long can you freeze pureed banana for?!


Question: i have a 6 months old grandson & my daughter wants to make her own pureed fruit for him.

the baby cookbook i used said not to freeze bananas or any puree containing banana. same with melons.

pretty much all other fruits and veggies are ok to freeze, though.

frozen food will last up to 3 months. i did "batch cooking" and cooked just once o twice a month. i'd freeze them in ice cube trays, then pop them out the next day and put in freezer bags. so convenient and better for baby! that's great that your daughter is making her own baby food!!!

Yes, of course you can freeze ripened bananas. I've used frozen bananas six months after. I always freeze them when they are getting overripe - just mash them without adding anything and put in a freezer bag.
