What kind of cheese in your grilled cheese sandwich? Tomato?!
I also change the kind of bread, sometimes using rye and sometimes Russian black bread.
Answers: I use provolone, munster, white cheddar or plain old cheddar. I also will try odd kinds of cheese that we have (cave aged gouda for example) just to see what I get. I also put a smear of mustard on the inside of the bread (an old New York deli trick) if I am using plain cheese and most of the time do not use tomato but I do put onion on it and one of my brothers puts pickles on his.

Grilled cheese with tomato calls for a couple of different cheeses:
1. White Cheddar
2. Jarlsburg
3. Hot pepper jack
1 slice munster, 1 slice provolone, and 1 slice of tomato on sourdough bread. Its perfect!
I like either Cheddar or Swiss in my grilled cheese sandwich. Sometimes I like to put in a slice of tomato as well.
Colbyjack, medium to sharp cheddar. Pepperjack cheese is good too for a change. No tomato, yuck!
I use whole-wheat olive bread with one of a few Vermont cheddars; it's the best cheese in the world.
ok, in my grilled cheese sandwich I put cheddar or American cheese and light mayo. and I only put tomato if I'm in the mood, which is rare.
No tomato on mine, thanks.
But I like a blend of Muenster & Colby! Mmm! Preferably on sourdough bread!
Provolone
I love grilled cheese! I love either honey wheat or sourdough bread with cheddar cheese and tomato with some slices of crispy bacon......YUM!!!!

My favorite type of grilled cheese is made with extra sharp cheddar and crispy bacon.
