I put too much salt in my chile, what should i do?!

Question: peel and chop up a raw potato into about 8 chunks. Stir them in and let simmer 15 min or so. The potatoes will absorb extra salt. Do not cook them completely, or they will fall apart and put the salt back in. Remove when almost tender.
