I bbq chicken yesterday then put it in the fridge how many days will it be good for?!

Question: The health department recommends keeping meat in the fridge no longer than 7 days if kept at 41 F. No more than 3 days at 45 F. Meat should not be stored above 45 F.

You can freeze it. A good rule of thumb is not to keep food in the freezer longer than 3 months. If it is in a deep freezer ( 0 F or below) it should last several years.

No more than 2.

Well it depends how you stored it, from personal experience if you stored it properly it can last there for max 4-5 days. Hope this helps.

As long as you have it wrapped up or in a very good container, you should use it up by the end of 72 hours, including the day you made it...If you wait longer, it could still be edible but the quality would suffer.

I use the 2 day rule~ after two day out to the trash it goes~

I agree with the others about the 2-day rule. That's pushing it. The flavors deteriorate quickly in storage and part of the problem is when it picks up the refrigerator or plastic odors while in cold storage.. Other problem is that the nice chicken flavor is gone.

After 2 days, we make soup out of anything remaining.

yeah its no more than 2 days.
