Basic easy sugar cookie recipes
Baking sugar cookies is easy and fun. You need a clearly written easy to follow recipe, a set of good quality ingredients, a little bit of planning and a bit of love as well. And the really good part is that you can share the results!
Good sugar cookies should be lightly browned by the cooking process, sweet from the sugar in them and used for decoration, and crisp to the bite but not dry. They are just right when they break into two pieces with a gentle snap and a small shower of crumbs if stressed along their middle. It's great fun writing and adapting recipes that come from different sources. The measurements used differ and the conversions for one system of measures to another are not straightforward. Fortunately, in this basic recipe we are dealing with a limited range of ingredients and so accurate conversion guides can be given. The links below will take you to the recipe style of your choice. The end results should all be the same regardless of which recipe you follow.

OREO & MILK . YUMMY.

If you have any kind of chips, use the recipe on the bag. If you don't have shortening, use butter or margarine. It doesn't make any difference but you do need some sort of fat...some sugar cookie recipes use cooking oil instead. But cooking oil (liquid) is not a substitution for shortening or butter.
