For each cup of all-purpose flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

What is the recipe?
Baking powder mixed with the all purpose flour may work.

Recipes calling for self-rising flour: add 1? teaspoons of baking powder and ? teaspoon of salt to each cup of all-purpose.

Make your own self-rising flour. I always do this.

Self-Rising Flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Note* If the recipe calls for more than a cup of self rising flour then I use 1/4 teaspoon of salt per cup of self rising flour.

In most recipes you can add 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt per cup of all purpose flour, to make a substitute for self-rising flour. The texture of the final product will be a little bit heavier since off-the-shelf self-rising flour has a slightly lower gluten content than all-purpose flour.

Most self-rising flours are a mixture of about 2 parts all-purpose flour to 1 part of cake flour with 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt added per 1 cup of flour mixture. Some self-rising flours are made from special medium-lo gluten content wheat w/ the added baking powder and salt.
