Can you freeze chicken and dumplings?!
Do you think it'd be alright to freeze some of it and save it for later? I've frozen homemade chicken soup before without any problems, but I was worried that in this the dumplings might get yucked out in the freezer. What do you think?
Answers: I made a huge batch of chicken and dumplings, and although I usually eat the leftovers for lunch for a few days after, but by the third day they've pretty much had it, and I always wind up throwing some of it away.

Yes it can be frozen. Depending on the type of dumplings you made freezer directions would be as follows
1. Dumplings that are more like biscuits: remove dumplings from the chicken and gravy, allow to cool then wrap well and place in freezer. Freeze the chicken and gravy in separate container, again in serving size portions. When ready to reheat. First heat the chicken then when bubbling hot add the frozen dumplings and heat thru.
2. If dumplings are more like noodles, just freeze in individual servings and reheat when ready.
The biscuit like dumplings will not be quite as tender and fluffy when reheated but they will still be good, just don't completely defrost before reheating.
Yes. They sell them frozen at the store.
Put in gladware and cover with saran wrap before you put the lid on - then when you reheat it you can just poke a hole in the saran wrap like a tv dinner. They reheat great - most things do. I freeze stuff all the time.
They are more starchy (as opposed to dried noodles), but if you freeze them in a food saver bag and heat the entire bag (unopened) in some boiling water later, they might be ok.
