I started a fruit muffin recipe it calls for 1 egg i do not have an egg can i safely leave it out?!
Answers: you really do need the egg. Substitute 1/4 to 1/3 cup mayonaise (not salad dressing) in place of the egg if you cant borrow one. Mayo is a great egg sub for many baked products.
depends on how you like your muffins to taste : )
You can leave it out, but they're gonna be a little tough and a little flat tasting....
You can safely leave it out, but your muffins won't turn out very good. Ask a neighbor if you may borrow one or run to the store really quick.
I believe the egg is a binder that keeps all the ingredients together, not to mention it makes things tasty. Run to the store...don't ruin the muffins.
As crazy as this sounds, we use mayonaise when we need an egg and we're out. Only like a teaspoon per egg. It doesn't change the taste and everything comes out normal. All mayo is is eggs anyway.
Well you can do it, but the consequence will be that it won't bind together very well.
If you have other binding ingredients in the recipe, it might be okay.
Good luck with it!
It wouldn't call for an egg if you didn't need one. Why not just eat a plain bun and call it a hamburger, HEATHEN!
I don't think so. Usually eggs are used in recipes to bind ingredients together. I recently made a meatloaf and didn't use eggs and it was mushy and feel apart.
no not unless you have egg beaters or an egg sub egg is what binds it together
