Recipe calls for a quart of sliced onions....?!

Question: is that the same as milk? Like, could I use an empty milk container to measure the onions? Thanks

I can't think of why an empty quart container can't serve as a measure for your onions, as long as it's well cleaned out. I used to do that a lot when I handled the baking at a deli I used to work for.

Four cups = one quart.

WOW...that's strange, never heard of a quart of onion before. Sorry, I can't help you. Ask.Jeeves

What are you making that calls for a quart of onions? That is a lot. But 4 cups = 1 quart.

Just measure 4 cups of onions.

1 liter or 1000 mL, or 32 oz, or 4 cups all equal 1 quart

Never heard of that before. lol
As the first person said though there are 4C. in one quart.
