Years ago, I made a coffee table out of pine. Was happy with it, but then afterwards decided I wanted the table to be black, so I used the goold old blow torch to burn the wood and then brushed it down afterwards with a wire brush, gave it a light sanding and it looked fantastic afterwards. 22 years on and my Uncle is still using that table...

I made wooden candle holders like that for gifts one year.Using a large round fence post,and cut each one about 6" high.They were awesome in there day. ;)
