tahini is very temprature sensitive and will burn very very quickly, add it at the end in your liquid sauces or flavorings and take it off the heat once it is mixed in
it is quite tasty but not particularly asian, more middle eastern, you can sub tahini in most thai recipies to replace peanuts and peanut butter for those with allergies to peanuts. the taste is not the same but its close
