What's your favourite way to prepare and cook steak?!
Answers: I am making a steak dinner tomorrow and I am looking for inspiration! Do you use garlic? Any other spices? Thanks in advance.
I marinate them in olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar. At least 2 hours or overnight, then I take them out and scrape the garlic off (so it won't burn) and salt and pepper them. Preheat oven to 350, heat a pan that can go into oven on stove top and sear steaks on both sides. Then put into oven for about 20 mins or desired doneness. Then remove from pan and let rest on a plate with foil on top, meanwhile add some sliced onion and peppers to the pan you just took the steak out of, and brown and then pour about 1/4 or more cup of PORT WINE into pan and stir to get all the bits off the bottom, then add a pat or two (or three) of butter stiring each one in, reduce slightly, add steaks back to pan and flip over to coat. Serve......use pan sauce in a dish for extra sauce. (oh yeah take out onions and peppers and put on top of steaks. Good Luck
Marinate it for a couple of hours with a bit of soy, red wine, garlic (crushed) and salt & pepper then cook in grill....medium rare is my taste!
make a marinade with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, salt, pepper, and mustard. Let it sit in there for an hour or two depending on the cut, maybe longer. Sooooooooooo good!
then grill to medium. No oil in the marinade=fewer flareups.
Grill it to medium and then smother it with a hot pepper sauce. Delicious. Serve with chips and salad.
I am a veggie and have been for about 15 yrs but I always think it depends on the quality of the steak, if it is a really good steak and you are serving it really simply with mushrooms chips etc I would just rub a table spoon of olive oil with salt and pepper into the steak before putting it in a hot pan. Do not over complicate good food, simple is best!
2 steaks
1/4 cup of dry red wine
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Place steak(s) in a shallow baking dish. Season with salt. Combine marinade ingredients and pour onto meat, turn to coat, and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Preheat grill for medium high heat. Remove meat from dish and discard marinade. Place onto grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side. When meat reaches desired doneness, remove from heat all let meat sit for 3 minutes before slicing
ITS YUM AND DELICIOUS
I like mine with tomatoes garlic onions and mushrooms with season all and tomato puree. Delicious!!
My fav way may be a bit too complicated.. and it involves a lot of seasoning. All perpose, chilli powder, ketchup.. all sorts.. it wicked!! But I'll tell you a simple way.. that is def tasty..
3 ingredients:
Ketchup, coke (coca cola) and chilli powder or pepper
You need to soak the steak in coke, then rub in the chilli and ketchup.. Put in oven and add a little more coke when it drys out. You can add a little bisto for exdtra flavour.. trust me!! It sounds weird but it is bloody simple and nice!!
i like to grill it wth pepper and anything else to bring out a spicy flavor...whatever u want...
I always rinse my steak then put it in a pan with some garlic salt, a little beer, a lemon juice, pepper, onions, and fresh mushrooms. Let it soak while you get your charcoal grill ready then sear it over hot coals then move to cooler area of the grill until it reaches the doneness you want .
Use a really thick one, smother it in garlic, fry it fast and really hot so it's red in the middle and crispy on the outside.
Serve it with grilled onions and mushrooms, chunky potato wedges, cos lettuce with croutons and caesar dressing and cover the lot in peppercorn sauce. Down a bottle of red wine with it.
This is all too much for me I'm going for a sandwich.
Bye!! xxx
try add some lemon juice(from fruit not drink one) add some pepper and salt. then grill it
ONLY IF you have a great exhaust fan OR you are grilling the steak outdoors:
Pittsburgh rare OR "Black and blue"
Get the pan as hot as you possibly can - let it heat on the stove AT LEAST 10 minutes at HIGH temperature.
Put the steak in the pan and it WILL smoke like crazy! After its black on one side - because of the way the steak is cut and the way the pan is made, the steak won't be entirely black all over.
Flip the steak and repeat.
Depending on the thickness of the steak, you shouldn't cook it on one side or the other any more than 3 minutes.
When the steak is finished cooking, put it on a plate and let it rest. Turn down the fire and saute some sliced onions and sliced mushrooms with some minced garlic.
Put this on top of the steak and serve with fresh ground black pepper and sea salt! WOW!
I forgot: your favorite veggie and potato!
Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

Yes, that is my real last name!
I like to get my steak and pound it a little on each side to make it tender then I season it with meat tenderizer black pepper and jus a little garlic powder on both sides. I get a grill pan and heat it up on high then I add a little canola oil to the pan right before I add the steak and I sear them on each side until their medium or medium well. One thing that I do is before I turn it for the first time I get a paper towel and I add oil to it and pat that over the meat then turn so it sears better. Id tell you how long to cook em but I dont know how thick they are. I usually sear them for about 5 min n each side if their 1.5 inches thick.
Yum, I'm kind of a steak purist and normally love just a good salt/cracked pepper crust but try topping it with a chimichurri sauce.
Chimichurri:
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 jalapeno, minced
1/2 lime, juiced
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped parsley leaves
1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon kosher salt
To prepare the Chimichurri: Combine garlic, jalapeno and lime in a small bowl. Whisk in vinegar and olive oil. Stir in parsley and cilantro. Add salt, cover and let stand 2 hours to allow the flavors to marry.
