Homemade Bisquick Mix
Use whenever your recipe calls for "bisquick mix".

Ingredients:
6 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup vegetable shortening

Sift flour, baking powder and salt 3 times into large bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months.

thanx "ptandps", my mini-loaves turned out gr8! Report It

  • 1/2 cup self rising flour and an 1/8 of cup room temp. butter or margarine and perhaps a splash of milk.

sure, 1/2 c flour, 1/4 t baking powder (not yellow box that is soda) 1/3 t salt

Stir thru the flour with b powder and then "cut- in"(incorporate with two table knives without really mashing) 1T butter or Crisco...good luck

How about pancake mix? I've never tried it, but I think they have similar ingredients. I guess it depends on what you're making!
