Is it possible to bread and deep fry steak?!

Question: I want to cut the steak up into about 2x2 inch pieces, bread it in eggs flour and breading and fry it. Is that possible? If so what temp and how long?

I would suggest 350 - 375, use vegetable oil, and make sure the oil is the correct temperature before placing your breaded meat cubes into the oil, as they will sit there, soak up oil, and then fall apart. Also, it will be easier to keep the oil clean, because sediments in the oil burn within the oil and in turn change the flavour. Depending on the thickness of your breaded meats, and the fact that it is beef, probably about 2.5 to 4 minutes, or until golden brown and floating. You can test the meat by squeezing a piece and if it does not bleed, it is done.

Typically food that is done cooking in oil floats to the top and stays at the top of the oil, without bobbing.

it's easy to chicken fry a steak. med high heat for 4 min each side to be well done

I'm not a chef, but i would say no. If you really want to try it, make sure you pound it with a meat tenderizer, and fry it at high heat for a short time. Good luck.

YUMMY!

Chicken fried steak. http://southernfood.about.com/od/recipes...

Not only is it possible, it is fantastic. You should fry at 350-375 until golden and crispy. That should be about 3-4 minutes. I would recommend A1 to dip in. Fantastic

Make an egg bath. Whip egg, mustard and hot sauce together for dipping before rolling in seasoned flour.

Your oil will be hot enough when you insert the end of a wooden spoon in and it bubbles around it. Always an easy method for those of us that don't have that handy thermometer.

Dip the meat strips in the egg and then in the seasoned flour.

You will not taste the hot sauce and the mustard will allow these to fry up to a golden brown.

About 3-4 minutes will do.

yupp. next time you go to a restaurant order chicken fried steak.

sure you can. They serve those at local resturants Dairy Queen. I would make sure the oil is hot and place a few pieces at a time and turn until evenly brown. Make sure not to over cook them. They will become extremely dry. Serve with white gravy for dipping.

You can but I wouldn't recommend cutting it until after you've fried it. Chicken fried steak is practically the official greasy spoon dish of the US. additionally you wouldn't use a quality steak like a porter house, t-bone and etc. you would use "cubed steak" or something similar.
