Need a recipe...can anyone help me?!

Question: I bought some cream cheese for the holidays for cheesecake and didn't use it all up... I was hoping to find a use for it for a main meal cuz Lord knows I don't need any more deserts in my world right now. Anyone got any good ideas for how to use it up? Pretty sure freezing cream cheese is a bad idea....

INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground sausage
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
12 manicotti shells

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add manicotti shells and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage; drain and keep hot. In a large bowl combine cream cheese, 1 3/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese and sausage.
Stuff noodles with cheese and sausage mixture; place in baking dish. Pour sauce over top of noodles and sprinkle with extra cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Put it in lasagna! My old roommate Richard used to do that and it was so delicious.

You can use cream cheese on baked potatoes instead of sour cream. And in that case, you can probably use it as a substitution for sour cream in other recipes. You may have to add a bit of liquid since cream cheese is denser.

I don't see that freezing it would harm it as long as it was well sealed and you didn't freeze it for too long. You can freeze other cheese, sour cream, milk etc.

If by "don't need any more desserts in my world" you really mean calories, then there is nothing I can think of to do with cream cheese.

I do have a great appetizer recipe for it, though.

Assuming you have an 8 ounce block of cream cheese:

Cook, drain, and crumble 8 ounces of hot sausage. (I use Jimmy Dean's HOT.)

Mix with cream cheese.

Great for stuffing mushrooms or just as a dip for crackers.

One sure way to cut the calories is to share the results.

you can freeze it , or you can mix it w/ some port wine chez , roll it in nuts + have a chez ball

Jalapeno Cheese appetisers wrapped with bacon and bake at 375F for at least 50mins until the bacon turns crispy. Wash down with some beers. Cheers !

*NB : remove seeds and stems. stuff in cheese. then wrap with bacon.

Try making a cheese ball. or a pumpkin roll: Cheese Ball
cream cheese
fried bacon (chopped up)
mild cheddar cheese (shredded)
green onions (optional)
and salt and pepper
fry bacon and mix all together after chopping green onions and bacon, roll in a ball cover with wax paper.

This Crab Rangoon recipe is delicious!

If you have a block of it, here's a very easy and good appetizer:
Lay the block of CC on a plate. Pour salsa (I prefer El Pato in the small can) over the top, sprinkle with cilantro, and there ya go! Serve with tortilla chips!

I have no idea.
