What are you making for dinner?!

Question: I am so sick of making the same dinners over and over again for my family (I usually make 1 dish meals as they are quick and easy- plus they hid the veggies for my toddler!)
Anyways, I am looking for quick and easy dishes that are a staple in your home that would be fun to try. I have the typical midwestern kitchen and ingredients.

Focus on the essentials: grains, protein, cheeses, and vegetables. Here is a low-fat recipes that is a good finger food and that your toddler will enjoy.

Chicken Fajitas. When you cook the chicken, pair it with onions and/or bell peppers. Try red, because htey tend to be more flavorful and sweet when nice and crisp. When you get the cheese, aim for something that isn't processed. Sharp cheddar, swiss, or maybe even mozzarella. Also try flour tortillas, or, if you can find them, wheat tortillas for the grain.

Glad to be of help. Contact me like I said above and I'll see what I can do as far as healthy recipes your toddler will enjoy. Report It

My mom just got me the new cookbook written by Jerry Seinfeld's wife. It is fantastic! All about hiding produce in the kid's food and making cooking fun for them.

As to what I am making for dinner tonight, I am not sure. Probably whatever I can prepare in -5 minutes, cause that's when my kids get hungry, five minutes before we get home.

    **********CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS
2 cans of can butter biscuits
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
    3 bouillon cubes
    1 tsp garlic salt (optional)
3 to 4 boneless chicken breast
Boil chicken breast until done (20 minutes). While chicken is boiling, prepare dumplings.
Roll out can of biscuits on a work surface sprinkled with flour. Make them as flat at you can and check that they have a light coating of flour. Set them aside.
When chicken is done, remove from pan and set aside to cool, saving the water in the pot that the chicken was cooked in. Skim any foam off the surface; you want to make sure you have a good bit of water in the pot, about 3/4 full. If water has boiled off, then just add more. Bring to a boil and add 1 can of Cream of Chicken, 2tbs butter, 3 boullion cubes, 1 tsp of garlic salt. Stir well
Over medium high heat, begin adding dumplings. Tear them into quarter size pieces and drop into the boiling water.
Hint: The less you stir the better they are, so after you add all of them, reduce the heat to medium setting, stirring only occasionally. Add chicken back into pot, tearing into small pieces. Cook until the dumplings are soft; this usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. I promise these are the best dumplings you will ever eat!. Enjoy!

well I'm not because someone called off and I have to work a 12 hour shift,So I will be Here till 8.00.
But here is a recipe that my kids like...

1 or 2 cans whole corn Don't drain
1 or 2 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
    6 potatoes cooked and sliced
Layer and salt and pepper to taste and bake for about 20 minutes and serve with bread and butter.

im making pineapple glazed chicken with mashed sweet potatoes with orange essence

Not sure if this will help but I am so hungry I wanted to answer this! lol In my oven right now I have lil smokies in sauerkraut. I'll make mashed potatoes with it also. This is not something I make on a regular basis, but on New Years, I bought too much sauerkraut, so I bought lil smokies yesterday so I could use up the other bag of sauerkraut. other things I like to make---chicken breast in mushroom soup(can add green beans too)and mashed potatoes, meatloaf, beef stroganoff, chicken, pork or beef stirfry.I know you can hide veggies in some of these too! I know there is more, and I will probably think of them as soon as I submit this! lol

I'm thinking either baked chicken (coated in dried Italian breadcrumbs) with a salad or cooked broccoli or sauted chicken tossed with some noodles cooked in chicken broth with some veggies, herbs, and spices.

I'm making deluxe macaroni and cheese (Kraft) with broccoli and vegetarian chicken patties. It's a really tasty meal, and it doesn't take very long to make. Also, it's cheap.

I am making potato casserole, rib-eye steak, lobster tails, and creamed spinach. I live on the Northeast; Massachusetts. We have a much more varied diet since I subscribed to Taste of Home, go online to recipezaar, and I get ideas from here too.

    Chicken, Broccoli and Rice Casserole

    Tomorrow
Chicken Parmesean, Pasta, and Salad (maybe bread)

Nothing - it is my wife's job to cook dinner.

meatloaf, potatoes au gratin, green beans and chocolate pie!

I'm making a baked bean dish that has burger in it. And ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, onions, and red bell pepper. It was my hubby's mom's recipe.

Tonight we had homemade pizza and chicken wings

Let's see here. I think we have some frozen tortellini in the freezer. I will probably heat that up and then use a jar of the Classico Alfredo sauce mixed with a half a jar of Classico Pesto for the sauce/topping. Yum! Served with a salad and sourdough bread :)

    Another good pasta dish is...

Cut up some zucchini and salami. Depends on how many people you are feeding. I like to use at least 3 regular sized zucchini and a package of sliced salami for our family of 4. I cut both into strips of sorts. Put a little oil in a deep pan along with some chopped garlic. Cook the zucchini in the oil until it starts to get a little soft, stirring here and there. Add the salami & cook for a couple of minutes. Add some milk. I don't usually measure, but it's probably about a cup to a cup and a half. Bring to boil and then it's done. Poor over your favorite cooked pasta shapes. Top with parmesian cheese. Family raves over how good it is.

    Make a casserole.
