Why do they say not to put tomatoes in the refrigerator, I like them cold!?!

Question: Do not put them in the fridge if they are not very ripe, or they will not ripen. When ripe, it is perfectly OK for them to be in the fridge.

Answers: Do not put them in the fridge if they are not very ripe, or they will not ripen. When ripe, it is perfectly OK for them to be in the fridge.

it makes them mushier but if you want to keep eating them cold just pop em in the freezer for about ten minutes before you use or eat them

They will no longer ripen in the fridge so keep them at room temp until they are ripe and then put them in the fridge when you want to use them.

That's for ripening the tomatoes. Ripe tomatoes are soft and should go in the fridge if you are not going to use them immediately.

store them out ,slice them and chill before use

I leave them in the fridge. They are always fine!!! Unless their there for like 2 weeks! Usually we eat them all before then... I wouldnt worry! Just keep eatin' em cold!
