What could be a good substitute of pecans in a salad?!
Any ideas?? :D
Answers: The salad calls for caramelized pecans but hubby is alergic. Other ingredients are roquefort cheese, pears, green onions, lettuce. You can read it @ http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Roquefort-P...

Walnuts, you can caramelize them too. Mix sugar and water one to one and roll walnuts in that then put on baking sheet in oven for just a few minutes until dry.
I'd substitute cashews. But walnuts might be a better one with the ingreds listed.
Any nut....like pine nuts or cashews would work well. So would walnuts but they are a little bitter.
If you want no nuts, try dried sweetened cranberries. Find them in the raisin aisle at the store or try sunflower kernels.
I have made that one but I used Walnuts and it was very good. Caramelized Pecans are very rich and not on my diet either.
