What can I do to keep the cup cake wrappers from sticking.?!

Question: When I bake cup cakes, the wrappers stick to the cake. My theory is that because I am adding applesauce instead of oil this is what is causing it to happen. I start with a banana bread mix and I add more bananas, chopped walnuts and instead of the oil I am putting applesauce. They are delicious and moist but stick to the paper wrapper. Any suggestions???

I would just spray the liners with Pam (or any non-stick spray) before putting the batter inside. That's the only thing I can think of that may help without adding extra calories. Good luck!

well it would depend on the recipe you are using, since you said you are making a very moist type recipe, I would spray with Pam (or similar product) if it is a regular cake type recipe I would use Bakers Joy (it has flour infused in the oil)

try a quick squirt of PAM on the wrappers before putting in your mixture?(or any other veg. oil spray)

I always use applesauce in everything!! brownies too & my kids think it tastes better.....BUT I NEVER use the little paper cups....I just spray my pan (use unhealthy oil the healthy ones olive,etc... have low burning temps) Just a little squirt. Even back when I did use oil in the recipe they stuck to the wrappers so I gave up wrappers a long time ago....if serving to others I place in/on a napkin. Mmm banana walnut my favorite... :)

The batter is too moist and sweet to prevent sticking. Spraying oil on is counterproductive. Live with the sticking or use a normal recipe. Or bake your cake in a loaf pan with a spray of pam.
