When you make tartar sauce, is it sweet relish or dill relish in the mix?!

Question: Its sweet relish

Answers: Its sweet relish

Mayo with chopped up onion, olives with pimento. Some people add pickles but I'm not a fan of pickles. Add a little paprika.

I used to use sweet relish but found out later that dill relish is better. They didn't used to sell dill relish until the last 3 years, or I never noticed. I have been buying the store brand of Tartar sauce because it tastes most like the seafood places.

i use sweet relish, but if you really want to make it jazzy, add some chopped capers. make sure you rinse them though, they're very salty.

Sweet is what they use in Hilton Hotels, and many other high end places that I have worked in.

I use sweet relish and a bit of lemon juice.

I made some last week and the recipe called for either sweet or dill relish. I had sweet so I used it but I think capers would be great.

I pretty much live by The Joy of Cooking, so here's their recipe:

1 cup mayo
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
1 teaspoon minced shallots
1 tablespoon chopped drained sweet pickle
Optional to add the same amount of chopped drained green olives
1 finely chopped hard cooked egg
1 tablespoon chopped, drained capers
Ground pepper
White wine vinegar or lemon juice

Mix all but the last ingredient and thin with a bit of the vinegar or juice.

I guess the answer to your question would be sweet pickle. I've made this recipe a few times but haven't put in the egg. I've enjoyed it and I hope you do too!

i use chopped dill pickle, some shopped green olives also and Cayenne pepper to the recipe
