We will all give about the same answer. I keep a folded paper towel in a can of shotening for greaseing pans and for my cast iron.
Scrub out the rust, might need steel wool for that. Dry the pan. give a light coat of vegatable oil ( or shortening ) and put in a hot oven, 375 deg or so, 2-3 hours. You might want to do this 2-3 times to get an even coat. When I use mine I oil it after cleaning for storage. If it gets a little dust on the oil a rinse with hot water is all it takes.

Wipe it with a light coat of cooking oil. Heating the pan with the coating of oil may help as well.

Well your going to have to get the rust off , then what I do is cook bacon in mine, remove the bacon, stick the pan in the oven for about an hour at 250.

When I want to clean mine out after cooking I use salt and scrub it with the salt and a paper towel.

After cleaning the pan, put a thin coat of crisco on the pan and put it in a 400 deg. oven for two hours. Turn off oven and leave pan for 24hrs. Then wipe pan clean.

Hi,
First you wash the pan to remove the rust and other dirt. Then wipe it dry. Put it over a flame, let is get warmed. Then pour a little oil in it, spread the oil all around the inside with a paper towel or a spatula. Let it warm for a while. Then turn off the flame, let it cool. Then wash the pan clean of the oil and store it.
I think it should work.
Cheers..
