I was going to make baked potatos and now i have lefover butter what can i do with it?!
Answers: make a butter sculpture ;)
eat it
Try bread and butter. Or rice and butter, lobsters and butter, garlic bread with butter, or butter and chicken.
wrap it up and put it into the fridge.
You are joking aren't you? For heaven's sake put it in the refrigerator and save it for later. Use it on your toast tomorrow morning BUT, DO NOT stick your fork in the toaster. You must be very careful, because I am not sure its safe for you to be in the kitchen.
popcorn!
I don't understand, you were going to make baked potatoes, and didn't? How is the butter "left over"? Isn't that something most of us just keep in our refrigerators anyway? If butter is something you only use on special occasions and only buy it for that reason and didn't use it, you can freeze it. If it's in it's original wrapper and box, you can freeze it that way. Otherwise, or instead of the original packaging, you can wrap it all in plastic wrap, then but in a zip lock bag I limit my use of butter also. I had extra from over the holidays, so that's in the freezer.
If your butter wasn't double dipped into or did not touch any raw proteins, then you can save it. Best to be used in another blended recipe though and not be served table side. I hope this helps you out with your dilemma.
make some toast and spread a thick layer of butter on it --yummy
