Can you make couscous in a rice cooker?!

Question: How does it turn out? How long does it take? I love to make Moroccan couscous (with vegetables and broth etc) but sometimes I need to save time...especially with another semester of school starting.

As you are well aware the best way to make cous cous is to steam it in a couscousiere :) Like you said that can be time consuming.
I have not tried it in a rice cooker but I think you could do it but don't you mix the rice and water in a rice cooker? The only rice cookers I have ever used you do this. It seems that it would be similar to cooking the cous cous stove top. Plus you can't take it out and separate the granules.

I think using the rice bowl in a vegetable steamer would be worth a try, taking it out once or twice to separate. I suppose that would bring you back to using a couscousiere in a way lol.

it dosent taste very good at all but i suppose that you could. it takes about 30 mins to 45 mins

I've personaly never tried it but cous cous only takes 5 minutes to cook, how much faster can you get?

ya but it wold take longer than putting it on the stove

Please don't ruin your couscous as it sounds like you are about to do......
put the couscous in a bowl--dry---------teh pour boiling water over them in the appropriate amount--cover and let sit.
The fluff with a fork and serve.
