i like family gathering... and sure BBQ is a quick and easy way.....
i guess if i organise for friends and office... it wld all be for gathering purpose....

I have to disagree that BBQ is quick and easy. Here, in Texas, we slow smoke our meats, whether it be chicken, beef or pork and depending on the weight of the meat, it can take anywhere between 6 and 20 hours. That's true BBQ (and it's almost a religion here too!) The weather here pretty much lets us cook outdoors year round with the occassional cold spell that keeps us inside.

Now, we also love to grill meat over charcoal or on gas grills. This is very good too. Usually steaks, chicken, sausage, burgers and hotdogs. We like pork chops cooked that way too.

I love to BBQ for family, friends and neighbors. It takes as much wood to make 4 briskets as it takes to make one, so why not. I did BBQ for my dad's 80th birthday a few years ago (as well as the fixin's and side dishes). Everyone loved it. All his friends said I should go into catering (don't I wish!).

Hope this answered your questions. (No I haven't done any fundraisers but my bro in law has won some cookoffs)

I love to BBQ for friends, neighbors, family and myself. I even had a BBQ wedding for my Daughter in our back yard. The whole thing was a big hit!

I have to agree with Mrs. WC. What you're talking about isn't bbq it's grilling. Barbequing is cooking meat over a wood fire at very low temps around 220-275 degrees for many hours. Barbequing is a religious experience here in the South with tips passed down from father to son for generations.
Now I do enjoy grilling for family & friends for a get-together. Steak, hamburgers, hot-dogs, pork chops, chicken & vegetables are some of the things that we enjoy on the grill. We've even been known to grill a pineapple occasionally.
