Can you 'roast' a chicken in an electric slow cooker? (lost instruction leaflet)?!

Question: Yes of course. I do chicken and roast beef in a slow cooker. You can throw peppers or an onion or 2 in for flavor also. I usually add about a cup or half cup of water. I sometimes throw in the potatoes and carrots a couple of hours before serving. The gravy made from the juice is delicious.
Something tells me Sadie(above) doesn't cook much. or realize what a slow cooker can do.

no, slow cooker needs liquid

I've seen recipes but never tried roasting a chicken.

Basically, you ball up aluminum foil and place it on the bottom of the slow cooker and rest the chicken on top of the aluminum foil.

I do mean to try it. When I have the time.

Here's a recipe that doesn't use aluminum foil. http://www.ehow.com/how_2140920_roast-ch...

Yum that sounds very good. What is your address so I can come? Never mind, I am just going to make my own. Thanks.

Sure, 4-5 hours on low heat.
