no, but you need to come to buffalo for some real wings....

yes for sure

yes of course

up to you, you can they will cook faster you don't they'll cook slower.

yeah i would but everybody has their own way of cookin

I believe so because in the new crock i just got said meat must be totally thawed.

if they are frozen, yes you do!

no need to defrost, throw 'em in a go. that's what I love about a crock pot!!

Often, in the brands I buy, they list on the back cooking times for both frozen and thawed. I would say that, in general, no, you don't have to.

HOWEVER, if the recipe you are using involves coating the wings before you put them into the slow cooker, then it isn't going to work very well with frozen wings. In that case, you want to thaw them out, and dry them off, before coating.

However, I generally don't do the coating type of recipes. Instead, if I am using a slow cooker, I cook them in the flavoring I want them to have, or I cook them "plain" and then add the sauce near the end.

No you don't need to defrost them. I always like to brown any meat I use in a crock pot. It adds flavor.

Defrost for sure...

I'd advise it greatly.

Nope, you can toss them in frozen.

Keep an eye on them; they may fall apart. You may want to pull them out and dry them out a bit in the oven for 10-15 min. Or, take the lid off awhile once cooked so they can dry out some.

You can do them frozen. You should be there to stir them around a couple of times.
Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Wings

5 lb Chicken wings -- with tips cut off
1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
1/3 cup Lemon juice
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp Molasses
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Chili powder
1/4 tsp Hot pepper sauce
dash Garlic salt

Place wings in crockpot. Combine the chili sauce, lemon juice, worchestershire sauce, molasses, salt, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, and garlic salt and pour over the chicken wings. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.

Being from Buffalo, wings taste best deepfried or baked till nice and crispy . Making wings in a slow cooker doesn't taste that good to me. They need to be crisp not rubbery. Either way enjoy.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but;chicken wings are deep fried or baked. They are not slow cooked. I guess you can make them that way but don't expect them to taste like typical wings. I would suggest going on line to get some other ideas.

wings thaw quickly , why not do it + not have to worry

yeah, u should defrost the wings first.

Never had them slow cooked in a Crock. I do them in a deep fryer but lately I do fresh unfrozen wings over charcoal as they retain moisture but still get crispy. You can't beat the taste of charcoal and I do just about everything on it.
