Has anyone made Rachel Rays Rabes & Salamis? What is broccoli rabe?!

Question: Can I just use regular broccoli florets? I never have seen rabe at the store ( I don't think)

I saw that episode. It looked good. She kept saying that you did not have to use the rabe, you could use florets instead or broccolini. I don't know what broccolini is.

I haven't made your particular recipe, but broccoli rabe is more of a bitter tasting veggie than broccoli.(it actually looks more like a green). It's also called rapini and not all stores carry it - only one in my area does - and though it looks kinda like immature broccoli, the tastes are very different! (and rabe is leafier) But I really love it - it's great with sausage and olive oil tossed over pasta! You can probably use broccoli in your recipe, it just won't have the same bite as broccoli rabe would. I bet some sliced up kale would work instead, also! I hope that helps a little!
OK - I found your recipe...

It sounds divine! It's a lot like what I was talking about with my pasta dish...the rabe adds a bit of bite to it, is the key. Try it with broccoli-it WILL work, it just will be a bit more mild!
